ARCHITECTURAL DIALOGUE BETWEEN HERITAGE AND CONTEMPORANEITY AT THE SAGRADA FAMÍLIA. CONFERENCE WITH PRITZKER PRIZE WINNERS
Sagrada Familia
Date
Saturday, 27 June 2026
Location
Central nave

On the occasion of Barcelona’s designation as World Capital of Architecture, the Sagrada Família will host a conference bringing together four internationally renowned figures in the field of architecture, all recipients of the Pritzker Prize.

  • Ramon Vilalta, founder of RCR Arquitectes

  • Carme Pigem i Barceló, founder of RCR Arquitectes

  • Rafael Aranda i Quiles, founder of RCR Arquitectes

  • Kazuyo Sejima, Japanese architect and Pritzker Prize laureate

The event will open with an introduction by Dr Jordi Faulí, Chief Architect of the Basilica, and aims to become a space for reflection on the dialogue between heritage and contemporary architecture. The presence of internationally acclaimed architects in such an emblematic building as the Sagrada Família highlights architecture as a form of cultural expression and as a tool for social transformation.
