On the occasion of Barcelona’s designation as World Capital of Architecture, the Sagrada Família has hosted a conference that has brought together four internationally renowned figures in the field of architecture, all recipients of the Pritzker Prize.

• Carme Pigem i Barceló,founder of RCR Arquitectes
• Ramon Vilalta i Pujol, founder of RCR Arquitectes
• Kazuyo Sejima, Japanese architect and Pritzker Prize laureate

The event has opened with an introduction by Dr Jordi Faulí, Chief Architect of the Basilica, and has aimed to become a space for reflection on the dialogue between heritage and contemporary architecture. The presence of internationally acclaimed architects in such an emblematic building as the Sagrada Família has highlighted architecture as a form of cultural expression and as a tool for social transformation.
