With the architectural completion of the Basilica, the blessing and inauguration of the Tower of Jesus Christ have taken place, marking the tallest and most symbolic element of Antoni Gaudí’s project. This historic moment has represented the culmination of one of the core elements of his design and a decisive step towards the fulfilment of his plans for the Temple.

The ceremony has been presided over by Pope Leo XIV, who has solemnly blessed the tower in a celebration of great spiritual and institutional importance. The presence of the Holy Father has given the event a unique and exceptional magnitude, establishing it as one of the most significant moments in the Basilica’s recent history.

The inauguration has culminated in a show created especially for the occasion, illuminating the Tower of Jesus Christ and the sky over Barcelona in a visual tribute to Gaudí’s creativity and vision.
